Big Magic

The best book I've read in my entire life. I'm damn serious.

I probably can’t write anything that could do this book the justice it deserves. Thank goodness this book doesn't need me to do it justice! And in the spirit of this book, I absolutely had to write this review.

So, yes. Best. Book. Ever.

But first, let me trace back to a huge mistake I made a few years ago.

I watched "Eat. Pray. Love."

And wow, was it bad! Julia Roberts and all, it was just so blah! A sad, desperate loser on the loose, I said to my husband in private. Long, shockingly bland movie. Never did I think that I would be dying to read the book it was based on. Which I am - now. Also, all of a sudden, I am a huge fan of Elizabeth Gilbert.

What can I say, I know how to change my mind ;)

Back to Big Magic. I was curious to read "Big Magic" after all the raging reviews. Especially after my personal hero (yes, I have a lot of personal heroes) Marie Forleo did an interview with Elizabeth Gilbert. And then I saw Gilbert's Ted Talk.

And I was hooked.

But I am spiteful. At times. Especially when my spite is harmless. And when nobody cares for my spite ;)

So, Fine, I thought.

Reluctantly, I bought the book.

Reluctantly, I started reading it.

And then I gulped it down like there is no tomorrow.

I was literally getting goosebumps as I was reading it.

I laughed out loud, because Gilbert's sense of humor is unique, rustic, and incredibly contagious.

I cried, too. Because I cry. It's kinda awful, but I'm finally at the stage of self acceptance when I literally don't give a damn that it’s awful to cry. Oh, and I cry in private, so I literally don’t care. I can deny all of it in public. Haha!
